"Nick drives Stick (not Stig)" (NickR)

This happened back in 2009 and I first heard about it during a seminar at the AOPA Summit a few years ago. The passenger was a low time single engine pilot with his wife and two daughters onboard, who suddenly had to fly a multi-engine turboprop to save the life of himself and his family... Excellent work of both the ATC and the pilot. He's one cool cat under pressure.
Video with ATC and radar:
Here's an interview with the pilot: !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

This sounds a bit like The Hatchet, minus everything about The Hatchet that isn't the pilot dying at the wheel.

Do you need to be resuscitated? Perhaps some mouth to....
Where have all the lightweights gone?

ATC handled it so well. I would have lost my shit. Co-pilot is a cool old boy.

If you have to be forced to fly a twin turboprop few are nicer to fly than a King Air.

I liked the female pilot who started helping first. She had her act together and for sure had King Air experience. Ft. Myers control wasn't as helpful with the aircraft. Too much "getting information".

I like the King Air but yeah, there are more interesting choices... My buddy is getting access to a TBM 700 very soon, so looking forward to getting some turbine time. Need to get my high performance and high altitude endorsement first though.

I meant nicer as in docile to fly (not that it's not nice... I'd love a King Air or a TBM)

I actually both misinterpreted as well as misread you first post... I failed, I'm sorry!
